Make your clients feel the pain.

One of the worst hangovers of my life.

I remember the day, it was 2007.

I was 24 and had too many beers the night before at a punk show.

I had cracked my head open in the mosh pit after seeing a particularly heavy band (Terror from NYC in case you were wondering).

I was lying about like a dodo (as my nana used to say), eating chinese takeaways, swigging back on powerade, you know how it is.

Resting and feeling sorry for myself.

I felt uncomfortable.

I felt lethargic, tired, a bit overweight and unhappy.

I knew I had to change my lifestyle.

The next day I joined the gym.

I took action.

I started to get in shape, cut back on the booze and starting eating better.

Here’s the point.

I’d been thinking about joining the gym for a year or so.

But it was never a priority for me.

The time, the money etc.

Until… I felt uncomfortable enough, the pain was high enough, that I decided to make a change.

Now, how does this relate to selling brand identity?

If your potential client is feeling OK, happy with the status quo and just kinda in pain… they will probably say no.

When your solution is $3k+ they might think, what I've got is ok, I can make do, I’ll think on it.

These are weak thought patterns that hold your clients in place, make them hesitate and not take action.

Stop them from moving towards growth and new possibilities.

It's up to us to make our clients feel a little bit of pain, a little bit uncomfortable about their current situation.

We use Seed Questions to uncover their pain, their why, their reason to want to move and make a change.

You’re not manipulating them, you are doing what’s right for them.

Helping them to make a positive change in their business.

So remember, next time, it’s ok for your client to feel the pain a bit, this is why we take action, join the gym, invest in our business, it all starts with a reason why.

PS We help our clients to install systems to identify, position and sell $5k+ creative solutions to the right clients, using our Flow model. If you have put your prices up this year, and or you feel 'uncomfortable' with the growth of your studio or small agency PM me and I'll share a bit about what we do at pitchr :)
