Is there a shortcut to more branding clients?

Playing the long game...

...sounds kinda boring right?

We all want sales now, clients now, money now.

We want the big branding jobs NOW.

But like branding vs short term sales strategies, playing the long game can create sustainability for your design studio.

And leads to more successful business in the long term.

I was listening to a great podcast this morning, and the guest was talking about how he has grown his design business.

One of the main ideas he shared was the idea of making friends, and how much that has helped him over the years.

Making connections, looking for opportunities to help others.

And to bring others closer to you.

Trouble is, we aren’t doing enough of that right now.
Or we are doing a little bit here and there, but without a clear intention.

Post pandemic, we are still at home, working away, not getting out enough to connect.

When you consider that the strongest opportunities you often get are ‘warm referrals’ via word of mouth, it would make sense that we get out of our chairs more.

Out of our comfort zone.

And as my dad would say ‘make our own luck’ or ‘create more chances’ for opportunities to arise.

So it’s not all about cold outreach, or ‘post and pray’.

It's about looking for opportunities to connect, and measuring your activities.

See everyone things consistency in business is about hardcore lead generation, always bringing on fresh clients and fresh jobs.

In reality though, playing the long game creates sustainability, and more opportunities for you.

Like branding is a flywheel, relationships and building connections is a circular process, a gift that keeps on giving.

We feed it by giving first and expecting nothing in return.
