What were you most skeptical about before you started with us?

Money was a large factor at the time just as I’d had a run of a few low-income months so investing felt a lot harder to do. I’d also invested in a design business course a few years prior and left underwhelmed, so I was a bit nervous about being burned again as there are so many “coaches” out there.

What made you go ahead anyway?

Hayden had talked me through what we’d cover in the course and I was really drawn to the emphasis on learning how to improve the “selling” side to running a successful design business, and not so much about the design side, which I already had. I also liked that it’s a 6-month course - that’s a good amount of time to invest into putting things into practice and having the guidance while doing so.

Now that you’ve completed the program, how has your perception changed of what we do?

I think Hayden undersells just how much value he offers in this course, and how available he makes himself to help you figure out your business problems. There are other coaches out there who make you feel like it’s a privilege to get any 1:1 time with them.

Also just how great the community of other members is! You leave with a bunch of new friends and a network of diverse creatives across the world.

What’s one specific benefit you got from the program?

I think just really shifting my mindset to knuckling down into the business side of things, and setting stronger goals and plans to get where I want to be.

How will what you’ve learned impact your business over the next 12 months?

If the past few months are anything to go by, I have a much more sustainable, directed business on my hands.

How has your pricing/customers/confidence levels changed?

My confidence has definitely increased, I’ve put myself out there a lot more and all the practice of hopping on calls with clients and connections, and having more frequent work has helped me refine my processes and ease of communication to talk about what I do, and how I can help. Since setting stronger income goals too, I look at how each project and quote fits into that picture and am more confident with charging more (although this is always a work in progress…).

How do you feel about your business now?

Optimistic! I’ve picked up momentum and hoping it just keeps building!

What would you say to someone on the fence about working with us?

If you’re ready to put in the work, but don’t know where to start, or need a guiding hand - this is for you.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

This is more than just a course, it’s a lot of hard work with a lot of reward, alongside an awesome bunch of people. Also Hayden is pretty cool too :) haha.
